I’m a third-year undergraduate student at UC Davis studying Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation with a minor in Art Studio. I have always been interested in art and science and the natural world and struggled with choosing between one or the other. However, I’ve come to realize that science communication is just as important as scientific research. I’m interested in seeing how art is one way to communicate and to bridge the disconnect between researchers and the public. In terms of science, I’m interested in concepts such as community ecology, human-wildlife interactions, wildlife adaptations to changing environments and much more. I hope to continue to learn so I can better communicate about environmental issues, bring forth my own voice and work in the future, and ultimately work toward a better environment overall.
